Halloween at Disney

Happy Halloween everyone!

We are enjoying the weekend at Disneyland. I'll post pictures when we get back!

Trunk er Treat

Hunter has been a little worried that since we will be out of town for Halloween he wouldn't be able to get all the "free candy". That worry was laid to rest when Aunt Cathy invited us to her ward's trunk er treat. Saturday was super busy for me and Russ was out of town, so that's when Aunt Sara came to the rescue. She said that she would be able to take the kids to Cathy's and then Russell would pick them up. The kids were thrilled!
They met up with their cousin Caleb and then they were off to get some of that candy!

THANK YOU Sara for letting me do everything that I needed and wanted to do that day. Thank you Cathy for letting us keep up our traditions. The kids had a great time. I was sad to miss out, but I know that they had a lot of fun.

Costumes

Next the fabulous Aunt Sara got the kids dressed in their Halloween costumes and made them take pictures, just like their Mom would've made them do. I was so glad to see these pictures on my memory card because even though I was off doing good things I still felt like I was missing out on this important event in their lives. So without further ado here are The Woopie Cushion, Buzz Lightyear and Tinkerbell (Cannon was with me, but he'll be a dinosaur).

Pumpkins

Wonderful, smart, beautiful, talented, Aunt Sara watched my kids on Saturday while I was at the temple and helping with a baby shower. Not only did she watch them, feed them, and take them to a park she also carved pumpkins! What an awesome sister!

YUM-O

O.k. yummy doesn't really describe these two recieps that I'm going to post. They both go beyond yummy. Please treat yourself and make some today. They are so worth it!!!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 box of spice cake mix
1 can of pumpkin
1 C. chocolate chips

Mix cake mix and pumpkin together. Add chocolate chips. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Put cookies on cookie sheet. They don't really rise, so however big you put them on the pan is how they will turn out. Bake for 15 min. Makes 24 cookies. Yup, that's really all there is to it! Enjoy!!

Oreo Truffles by Erin Lovell

1 pkg. oreos - crushed
1 pkg. cream cheese
1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Crush oreos, put 6 of the oreos aside after crushing. Mix cream cheese and remaining crushed oreos together. Melt chocolate chips. Roll oreo mixture into balls and dip into the melted chocolate chips. Sprinkle remaining oreos on top of chocolate. Let cool in refrigerator.

I don't have a picture of the truffles, because they just don't last that long! Trust me, you must make these soon!

6 Month Milestones

We have enjoyed six months of Cannon! He is now 19 lbs. 13 oz. and 28 in!

He has two teeth on the bottom. He eats rice cereal and will start other food soon. He can roll from front to back. He reaches for and plays with toys. He gives the best smiles and has the cutest laugh.

He has outgrown his car seat and is now in Audrey's old one. That is a big change for both Momma and Audrey. Now I have to climb into the van to buckle him in and out. I also have to carry this big boy everywhere instead of having the convenient seat to set him down in. Audrey did NOT like Cannon in her seat. She cried the whole way to the gym this morning, even though she LOVES her pink big girl seat. His blond hair is getting longer, so now he looks like he has hair. His eyes are definitely blue.

He loves to play with Hunter. Some (o.k. most) mornings I'll find Hunter in Cannon's bed. The two of them are laughing and playing. Its really sweet.

I hope that my Grandma Coral gets a chance to see this post, because then she can see how big "her" baby has gotten. Hopefully she'll get a chance to come visit soon so she can see for herself. (Hint, hint)

We LOVE this boy! He is the sweetest, calmest, gentlest baby ever. He's the best!

The UPS Person

Yesterday, we heard our doorbell ring. When I looked out the peephole, nobody was there. I thought that maybe it was a short person that couldn't see, so I opened the door. Sitting on the ground was a surprise treasure. A package delievered by the UPS person that we didn't even see. Maybe they are special like Santa or the Tooth Fairy. They just drop off little packages of happiness and then go on their way.

What could it be? The excitement of the unknown is great. It says it is from Minnesota! Grandma & Grandpa Mitton sent us a package! Yes! We grabbed the scissors and cut off the wrapping and opened up the box.

Inside we found some new clothes, halloween socks, fairy wings, a wand, monsters that grow out of little capsules and of course...beautiful fall leaves.

THANKS GRANDMA & GRANDPA MITTON!!! WE LOVE GETTING PACKAGES!

No Hope

I don't have any more hope that my 4 1/2 year old will ever be potty trained.

Depressing

I've been going to the gym fairly regularly and starting to feel kind of proud of myself too. I met with my trainer last month and she took my body fat test. I was a little off the charts (and not in a good way). So this month (today) she did the test again, but then didn't say anything about it. She worked my butt off, made me sweat, feel sore and then left and filed my chart. I did a little more cardio and then started to leave when I remembered that that she hadn't said anything about my test.

So I went to look at my chart.

I've lost 4 pounds!!!! Hallelujah! BUT my body fat percentage went up! How is that possible? Why do I bother going to the gym? Does this mean that I need to give up my peanut m&m's?

Very depressing...

Final Count

With the help of some AMAZING ladies the final count of all of our hard work is...

BOO to You!

Last Monday night we came home to find an adorable pumpkin on our doorstep. When we looked inside we saw that it was filled with apples, carmels and candy to make a delicious treat. We were super excited. The next morning we had our treat for breakfast.Thank you to whomever "Booed" us. We loved our surprise treat!

Cannon 5 months

A is Adorable

Audrey is 2 years and is now old enough to take a dance class at the community center. She does ballet and tap for an hour once a week. Her class is just adorable! The teacher assures me that she will listen (eventually) and that I won't have to be by her side all the time. She does have a good time, and she looks just precious. Russell wants video, so maybe I'll post that. It might be boring to everybody except the Grandma's though.

Unattended Child

This is what happens when I'm busy and not paying attending to my child.













I wish that I could say that I was busy scrapbooking or even doing housework, but I must confess that I was deep into the Twilight books. They were so good. Its a good thing that I read fast because my kids weren't the only things that got negelected that week. I wasn't really excited to read them, because vampires aren't really my genre, but I totally loved them. What a great series!!!

Anyway, Audie sure is cute and luckily washable!

Tooting Our Own Horn

Well as if you didn't already know, here are some pictures of how amazing I am (along with my sisters Cathy & Sara & great friend Kelli).


First you need to pick the pomegranates from the tree. Be careful because the tree is quite thorny.

Use boxes, buckets and such to hold the yummy fruit.

Then you need to get all of that fruit from its home. Cathy and I pick out each seed from each crevice carefully. Sara and Kelli whack it with the back of a spoon and they all come tumbling out. Both methods work, although I think whacking might be faster.
Then you need to cook the fruit to soften it. Next you squeeze every last drop out of it. Then you mix in heaps of sugar and some pectin to make some delicious jelly. Boil it all to make sure it is sealed and will last for a while and still be yummy.

And there you have it, Pomegranate Jelly! (This isn't even half of it!) We were having so much fun on the 28th, that we did more on the 4th & 5th. We even got some Prickly Pears from my neighbors large cacti to make even more jelly.

I will give you our exact number after I have labeled everything. Right now I am simply exhausted. It was a lot of work. But once I tasted it last night... it was totally worth it! YUM-O!!!

Fall?

These pictures were taken on Saturday, September 28th. It was a beautiful day and quite warm. So Dad and the kids took advantage of our great pool. They had a lot of fun.

New Dollar Bill

The Treasury Department did a rush job on this new dollar bill. I think that we are all feeling its pain.
