Hello from MO!

O.k., so I've been a little slow about posting, but I am on vacation!!!

Here's a little update. We left on the 9th at about 6:30 AM. Although my MIL and I traded off driving, I ended up driving INTO each state. It was pretty cool to see Welcome to... Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. The kids did really good in the car. The first day we drove all the way to TX before we called it quits. We spent the night in a hotel and then were back on the road by 10:00. We drove until 10:00 that night. Driving through Oklahoma we passed through a serious storm. The rest of the way we had my Sweetheart checking the weather online to tell us when we'd pass it. Luckily once we got to KS the weather held. I've never really been in NM, TX, OK or that part of KS, so it was pretty cool to drive through. It was fun knowing that when I woke up in the morning that there wouldn't be any more mountains!

Here's a picture of the kids playing at McDonalds. Thank goodness for play places!!!

The internet is slow out here in the country, but I will keep being patient and will post more things soon.

Gimme Some Breakfast Already!

I was sitting in the living room watching t.v. with Hunter when I heard the chairs in the kitchen being moved around. I thought, Oh that must be Cannon pushing the chairs around. When I got up to look I saw him sitting in the chair! He had pushed the chair out from the table and somehow climbed up onto it.

I brought him some breakfast and he was happy as could be. What a big boy! Do you think I can get rid of my high chair?

Swim Time

The boys love to jump in the pool. I love it that they can play together and that even though I'm supervising, I don't have to get in too.

The Wind Beneath My Bike Trailer

Biking around the block with all the kids is a lot of work, but its fun! Especially when Isaac takes a turn pulling the trailer. :)

I'm Outta Here!

Well, today's the day! The day that I head out for my drive to Missouri for the start of my summer vacation. HOORAY!!! If you look at the map below you can see Nevada and Missouri aren't that close, so I've got some driving to do! From Missouri I'll go to Chicago, Illinois for 3 days then on to Minnesota. In August I'll drive from Minnesota all the back to Nevada. Oy!

For those of you that read my blog (thanks!) I've scheduled some posts to happen while I'm gone. I'm also hopeful that I'll be able to do some posting while I'm away. I'll keep you updated when I can and I'll read about your adventures for the summer too.

Happy Summer Everyone!
XOXOXOX
Eliza

Appreciation

It's always nice to be appreciated for something that you've done. Something small, something big, its nice to know that your efforts haven't gone unnoticed. When you have a calling at church the things that you do sometimes go unnoticed. My Sweetheart felt that way for many years as the scout master. Now that he has been released he misses all of the things he used to do.

At the last scout meeting the new scoutmaster presented him with this award:

Now he feels a little more appreciated.

Just Peachy

While we were out playing in the yard we noticed that our peach tree had been attacked by the birds. They saw that delicious fruit and couldn't resist. There was only one lonely peach left, so we picked it before they could. I wanted to take a picture of it, but before I could the kids started eating it. Golly, they might be worse than the birds!

It was very hard to only have one peach. Audrey and Cannon kept fighting over it!

It was yummy and very juicy. I hope that next year we have more peaches. That way I'll get more than a little bite!

My Little Monkey

There was never a child so lovely but his mother was glad to get him to sleep. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Isn't baths before bedtime the best thing ever? Cannon is so cute and clean all snuggled up in his towel and he smells so sweet!

Mt. Charleston

We went on our ward camp out on Mother's Day weekend, and I wanted to post about it, but then never got around to it, so since its still May, I'll post it now.

We had such a nice time camping in the mountains. It was cool, peaceful and kinda pretty. Even after 12 years of mountains I'm still not sure I like them and after 9 years of desert, it still hasn't grown on me. So it was pretty in a mountain desert sort of way.

The kids love camping, especially being in the tent. The whole time we were setting up Hunter kept saying that he was tired and really wanted to take a nap. We knew he just wanted to be in the tent, even though it was still flat on the ground.

After our last camp out, we knew that the kids ended up sleeping with Mom on the air mattress and Dad ended up on the ground. So this time we brought the cot for my Sweetheart to sleep on. We put Hunter on the ground, which worked for most of the night, then he ended up sleeping with his knees in my back. Audrey and Cannon kept snuggling and pushing me until I was stuck against the side of the tent. I finally got up and moved to the wide open space on the other side of the air mattress (where Hunter found me later that night). Then Audrey kept kicking off the sleeping bag, which made Cannon cold and then he would cry. I'd put blankets back on and then Audrey would cry. Can you tell that I had a loooooong night?

We do love camping and we hope that when the kids are a little older that we might get more sleep. :)
