A Dobbins' Day

Happy Birthday to our beautiful sister Sara! I won't tell you how old she is, but I'd like to share 28 great things about her. 1. She has great hair. 2. She can blog like no other. 3. Chocolate & Cactus On Monday we went to Ethel M.'s Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden. This is a free tour of the chocolate factory and then you can walk around the cactus garden that has more than 300 different species of cacti. My Mom and my Grandma really liked looking at the different cactus. The kids liked running around the different paths. The Chocolate Factory wasn't in production at the time we were there, so we got to see big empty pots, but we still got the free chcolate sample at the end. YUM!

Having food storage is a hard enough job. You have to gather it, find a place for it and most difficult is the rotating of it and using it. Last night when I was cooking dinner I grabed a box of rice a roni. When I opened it I found these Needless to say, my rotation of these food storage item ended up here

Last nights Biggest Loser was GREAT! I don't think I'm fat enough for the show though. (Wishful thinking) They have some big people. Now...HOW did BOB know???? In the opening of the show the trainers were talking and Bob said, "None of it means anything is you are going to sit there and eat ice cream while watching our show." Ummm, can he see me right now? Does he read my mind or just my blog? P.S. Mission Accomplished! All of the laundry got folded and put away. My wonderful sweetheart even matched socks for me and helped fold while I fed the baby. What a man!

In order to avoid this (folding all my clean laundry) I have been: Going to the gym Eating & Snacking Playing w/ the kids Planning my sharing time Looking at old scrapbooks Reading blogs Surfing the web ANYTHING but fold the laundry! It's now 4:30 and time to think about making dinner (another thing I avoid). I don't mind cooking its just the thinking of what to make part. My goal is to fold that mountain away, while watching the greatest show ever! ( My sister is even going to watch it! ) Its called Since it is on tonight I went to the gym this morning, now I won't feel as guilty! Pretty smart, eh? I hope that you all take the time watch this inspiring show!

I've been saving my pennies for lasik eye surgery. And with some generous gifts for my birthday and Christmas my goal was getting more attainable. So I set up an appointment to see if A: My eyes qualify and B: how much. Yesterday was the big day. The good news. Horray I qualify!!!! I have optimal cornea thickness. The bad news. It costs $5300!!! With Russell's work discount it's only (sarcastic) $4300. My pennies haven't added up to quite that much. I think I'll try a different surgen. My sister got her eyes done for $3000, so I know there must be cheaper places. But I don't want to be too cheap, because these are my eyes and my vision's future we're talking about here folks! So for now it's back to contacts/glasses and looking for pennies in the parking lots.

Here are 9 things that I'm looking forward to in 2009! 1: Continued good health for myself and my family. 2: Russell having the opportunity to grow in his calling by going to 2 scout camps this summer. 3: Isaac turning 13 and officially becoming a teenager(o.k. so not so much the teenager part). 4: Hunter going to kindergarten. 5: Audrey taking more dance classes. 6: Cannon walking! 7: A vacation, anywhere. 8: Family coming to visit. 9: Scrapbooking more and getting photos organized.
