A Dobbins' Day

The Springs Preserve is a fun place to visit. It tells the story of Las Vegas and about living in the desert. While we were there with Grandma and Grandpa Mitton we got to see a bird show that was quite fascinating.

Grandma and Grandpa Mitton came to vist us in January. We celebrated A.J's baptism, had a belated Christmas, spent lots of time together and celebrated Sara's birthday. It was a fun visit. We sure miss them!

We love going to see the flower display at the Bellagio. It is always beautiful and somehow tranquil in the middle of a busy casino. (The kids and cousin Caleb obvisouly didn't want to take any more pictures that day!)

I don't have very good excuses for not posting for so long. I guess I really didn't know how to get the pictures off of my camera until now. My memory card is full from Christmas pictures until after Easter! So now that I've figured it out, I have a LOT to post about and even though its "old news" now it might be new to you! Plus you can think of it as catching up with an old friend that you haven't seen in a while. I hope you'll enjoy the next few weeks as I get the pictures downloaded! Here is a family picture from when my parents were visiting in December. It was hard getting so many little ones to look at the camera and actually smile. It turned out o.k. though and its nice to have us all together. Grandma & Grandpa Mitton with all the grandkids! They sure miss them when they are back in Minnesota. It will be fun when we can all be there this summer.

I'm still having a hard time with my pictures transfering, so I don't have any pictures of Isaac. Hopefully they weren't lost. I just want to post this because January is almost over and its time to be done with this post. We did have a wonderful Christmas. Thank you to everyone for the great presents and for the fun times we had together.

Grandma Mitton definately had lots of helpers in the kitchen helping her with the pie baking. Audrey, Cannon and cousin Caleb were cute little chefs.

These beautiful falls are in Minneapolis only a few minutes from the airport. They are near two beautiful lakes and a creek that forms the falls. It was kinda a hike with the stroller, but very pretty.

Audrey & Hunter went for a canoe ride one evening with Grandma & Grandpa Mitton. They went to look for a beaver dam. Unfortunatly the beavers had moved on. The kids did really good sitting still so the canoe wouldn't rock. They liked being so close to the water.

We celebrated Grandma Mitton's birthday with a lovely dinner on the fire. We made her a dump cake in a dutch oven that was soooo yummy. We put candles in everybody's piece and when we took them out they were melted on the bottom because of the heat from the cake!

The Bellagio Hotel has a fabulous atrium that has flowers that are changed several times a year. We went when it was Chinese New Year. It was beautiful!

Well, after the overwhelming request (Melanie & Shawna) to see the final product. I thought I'd post a couple of pictures. I ended up with nine bags, which means I can really shop! The bags will fit 2 gallons of milk or lots of other things. They are made out of canvas and are very sturdy. I'd like to thank my mom, my sister and other family members for all of their help.
