Star Student

Image
Hunter was chosen as the star student this month at school.  His Kid of Character Award says: Hunter Dobbins for chosing such great books to read! I love hearing all of the adventures you go on during reading. Keep up the good work! from Mrs. Stephenson Congratulations Hunter!  We love you!

Bear

Image
When Hunter turned 9 it was time to move from the Wolf Den to the Bear Den.  He worked really hard to finish all of the requirements for the Wolves and he earned his wolf badge and some arrow points. We are really proud of him and look forwaed to our year as a bear!

Hunter turns 9!

Hunter had a GREAT birthday!  He got breakfast in bed, brought cupcakes to school and had some friends over for a party.  He got some new clothes, Skylanders (video game and "guys"), some money and giftcards and his favorite is getting my old phone.  Its an iphone 3g and doesn't have phone service so its really an ipod touch.  He LOVES it! Hunter is a great big brother and a very good helper.  Sometimes he tries to be the parent with his siblings, but he really does just try to be helpful.  He is playing the piano really well and will be starting baseball again as soon as its warm!  He has a great smile and is fun to play games with.  He is so smart and loves to read.  He tries his best and works hard at school.  He really enjoys cub scouts and doing things that are active.  He has been reading his scriptures and saving money for his mission.  We just love this guy!  Happy Birthday Hunter!

Squeezes and Peek-a-Boo

Image
Hunter loves to hold Maggie and just (gently) squeeze her and love on her.  While I took their picture, Cannon popped over the top of the chair and peek-a-boo'ed them!  Not sure about his smile, but he didn't want to be left out, so I snapped his picture too!  These kids are a lot of fun.

Wrestling Around

Image
Cannon and Hunter like to wrestle and play rough with each other.  They are all boy!

Future Tiger

Image
I took Hunter to the Boys High School Basketball game on Tuesday night.  It was a good game, and Hunter was impressed with how well they could shoot.  During half-time they had all of the parks and rec. league come out onto the court.  Each team walked out with their coaches and the audience applauded for them.  The announcer called them the "Future Tigers".  It was a great moment where I felt like a part of the community.   I wonder if I'll be watching Hunter playing basketball on this court in the future...

Pinewood Derby

Image
Hunter and Dad working on polishing the axels, the key to victory. Waiting for the race to begin.  So excited!  He didn't make it to the finals, but did win the Most Futeristic Car! He had a lot of fun and is already planning his car for next year!  The Pinewood Derby is such a fun Cub Scout event.  The boys really enjoy making their cars and then watching them race.  This race was set up really well.  Everything was organized and decorated nicely.  After a small glitch with the computer, everything ran smoothly.  For dessert there was "spare tires and motor oil" (mini doughnuts and grape juice).  There was also an area for little kids with a car mat and cars to play with and coloring with car themed pages.   Way to go Hunter! We are proud of you!

Basketball

Image
Hunter decided to try basketball this year.  He's number 9.  This was from his first game.  He's doing really good, he just needs to work on his offense, defense is great!  Its nice to be in a gym instead of out in the elements to watch him play!

Gone Fishing!

We love going fishing on Grandpa Mike's pond!

Hunter loves Coral

Image
Hunter and Coral were hanging out on Aunt Tammy & Uncle Wyatt's new porch. He's such a great big brother! And I am so jealous of their porch! I wraps around 3 sides and has a great view!

Picking up Isaac fromt the KC airport

Cannon and Hunter came inside the airport with me while Grandma circled around. We were a few minutes early so the boys entertained themselves.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Image
We went to our cousin Brode's 1st birthday party. For some reason this is the only picture I took. Its of Hunter flying his kite. Brode gave everyone kites to fly at his birthday party at the park. It was a perfect day and we had a great time.

Good Job Hunter! We are proud of you for working so hard in school!

Hunter is a Cardinal

Image
Hunter has started another season of baseball. This year he is a Cardinal and he is on the same team with his cousin Tanner and also Ryan (a friend from church). The coach has his trying first base and pitcher. He is having fun. He's so good at sports! He also gets to spend time with Dad who is the assistant coach (when he's not at soccer).

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Image
Hunter turned 7 one week ago on February 5th. I can't believe that he is getting so old, and that I haven't worked for a paycheck for 7 years now! He wanted a Mario party this year, so we tried our best. Mario isn't a character you can find in the stores to I had to improvise. I made a cute banner with Mario characters on it and we made a gold question box pinata. The attempts to make a mushroom or star cake were failures so I just printed a picture and stuck it in the cake. That works right? I guess I won't be a Cake Boss anytime soon. Hunter had fun and that's all that counts! Happy Birthday Bubba we love you! Hunter hitting the pinata, while everyone waits for it to burst. Looking for gold coins in the backyard was fun. The person with the most gold coins won a prize and the three people that found a gold star won a prize. The Kumpa balloon stomp. Playing a Mario game on the Wii.

Card Sharks

Image
Isaac and Hunter had fun playing cards with Grandma. On the first round Grandma didn't shuffle very well, and Isaac won every hand. They laughed and laughed!

Crafty Kids

Audrey loves to do projects. She is always asking to do something. She is also quite happy to sit at the table and cut paper for hours. Today we pulled out the popscile sticks and made pictures and then they painted some ceramic animals. They all had a great time being creative.
