Keep Your Fingers Crossed

After many years of making pomegranate jelly I really wanted to enter it into the county fair. One year I completely forgot (probably pregnant) another year we were out of town. Then this year I didn't make any because I was pregnant and too huge to tackle such a large task . Well its time for the fair again and I decided that I had to do it. So on Saturday Sara and I made some jelly (we cheated and bought juice) and we also made some ice cream toppings because we saw some in a farmers market in MN. I also threw in some strawberry jam I made a month ago and some other jelly that was a little older (hope its still good...) And today was the day I turned it in. Now we just have to wait for judging at the fair next week. I'm not sure if we'll be able to go, so if anyone heads out that way and sees a nice shiny blue ribbon on my jelly please let me know!

Spooking the House

Image
My sisters and I did a super craft day during General Conference to get our houses ready for Halloween. We had a huge list of projects to work on and a house full of kids (6), but we presevered and the results are amazing. I love Halloween decorations and I am so happy that we were able to make these ourselves for a very thrifty price!

I Can't Believe I Forgot to Post This!

Ain't it purrty? AND it was delish!!!! Sara saw this bird on the Taste of Home magazine and said we should try to cook ours like it. We did and it turned out beautifully. Yum! Just seeing the picture makes me want to defrost another turkey and do it again! I did volunteer to cook a turkey for the ward Christmas party, so now I've cooked a beautiful, yummy bird twice!

Fiesta

Maybe it was a little early in the festivities, but my kids were the only ones dancing! Oh well, they had a good time and luckily they got Aunt Sara to do it with them, so I didn't have to! The food was super yummy and we all had a great time.

Labor Day

Image
What is Labor Day? Hunter asked me and all I could think of was that he didn't have to go to school and Daddy didn't have to work. So I looked it up. Labor Day originated in Canada and was later adopted in the US. It is to celebrated "the strength and esprit de corps of the trade and labor organizations." Traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer. Forms of celebration include picnics, barbecues, fireworks displays, water sports, and public art events. So that's what we did. We invited some friends and family over for a BBQ and swimming. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed some yummy food and lots of fun.

Meeting Someone From the Internet

Image
Since My Sweetheart didn't have to work on Labor Day, he was able to watch the kids and I was able to go out for breakfast! I haven't been out with just adults for a long time. My sister Sara invited me to go out with her and her friend Rychelle . So I had my first encounter with meeting a fellow blogger! I was kinda nervous, but Rychelle was super nice. We went to a cute restaurant called Jamms. I had a great time. Thanks Sara for getting me out of the house for a little while, and thanks Rychelle for breakfast. We'll have to get together again soon.

Helping Out My Sis

Image
After driving straight through from MN to NV with 3 kids, what would you want to do? Well the next morning we were up bright and early (dang central time) and went over to my sister's house to help her put in her brand new laminate floors. It took us all day, but the end result is gorgeous . P.S. I am now totally updated from my summer!!!! Tomorrow (8-24) is Isaac' first day of 8th grade, Hunter's first day of Kindergarden and Audrey's 3rd birthday! So there will be lots more things for me to post about. :)

Made ya laugh!
