Baby Belly

Well this is it, for those of you that haven't seen me... I'm huge! Tomorrow we go to the hospital, so this is the last belly picture. We are really excited to meet our new little baby.

Sleep

Audrey likes to "sleep" with her Daddy. What she really did was cuddle Daddy until he fell asleep then she started to play. Mommy told her it was time to go to her bed, but she said "no" and cuddled Daddy some more. Then she closed her eyes really tight and pretended to be asleep.

Grandma Mitton

Well Grandma Mitton arrived Friday night to help us get ready for the baby. As you can see the kids found her Saturday morning. Hunter jumped right out of his bed and ran right to Grandma Mitton's. Audrey had already woken up and saw Grandma there, so she wanted to cuddle right away.

Happy Birthday April

My very good friend, April Shumway has a birthday on May 2nd. It is the big 30! I'm going to be a little busy that day, and so I don't want to forget her big day, so I'm doing this post now. These are pictures I had from college. April and I met our freshmen year at SUU in Cedar City, UT in 1996. We have been friends ever since. So April, I wish you the very best 30th birthday. I'll be thinking of you!

1st Swim of the Season

It was 7:30 PM and Isaac's friend Brandon was over and wanted to go swimming. Russell had given us the go ahead, so they started thinking about it. Isaac wasn't so sure he wanted to, but Hunter was all for it. They called their other friend Kyle and all got into swim trunks. The temperature in the pool was 76 degrees and the air temperature was about 80 degrees. Brandon was the first to jump in and it was a shock. He stayed in though, and Kyle was next to plunge in. It took them a while to convince Isaac that this was a good idea. Then Hunter just jumped in. He started yelling brrr, brrr, but kept on swimming. Isaac decided that he didn't want to get shown up by his little brother so he jumped in too. After 15-20 minutes I made Kyle get out because he was shivering too much. Hunter was looking a little blue, but wouldn't get out. So I told everyone to get out. Brandon begged to jump in two more times. So after that they all got out. They were pretty frozen so they all ran to the house. I guess for the first swim of the season on April 25th they did pretty good. They had fun and Russell was glad that the pool was getting used.

Seven Random Facts

Thanks Elizabeth, I'd feel guilty if I don't do it, so I'm doing it now before I lose all of my brain cells to motherhood. This is what this post is all about...

Here are the rules: 1) Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog 2) Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird. 3) Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs. 4) Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. I don't know what a tagger is or how to link to a tagger.
2. I love Audrey Hepburn movies.
3. I like to do laundry, just not the folding and putting away part.
4. When I was pregnant with Hunter I couldn't eat ice cream without throwing up.
5. I love to stay in jammies all day and read a book.
6. I love camping, but not hiking.
7. I love to travel, but hate to pack.

O.k., so the only blogs that I read are also the ones that Elizabeth reads, and since I don't know what tagging is, I'm not going to do this part. I hope you'll check out Life in the Leavitt Lane, Lutopia, and Hammond Hamster Wheel. Hopefully they will take Elizabeth's challenge and you can read their seven random facts too.

A Simple Request

It all started when I asked Isaac to water the garden. If you've read the book "If you give a mouse a cookie" then you'll recognize the format of my "simple request". It's a little long, but I hope you enjoy it!

If you give a boy a job to do,
his little brother will want to do it too.

So you'll make a deal that after Isaac is done,
then Hunter can do it too.

When Isaac is done watering the garden,
He'll want to pick some of the vegetables.

So he'll ask you which ones would be o.k. to pick.
You'll look at the garden and say, it looks like only
2 radishes and 1 carrot are ready.

So he'll pick them and wash them.

Then he'll want to eat them.
He'll even want to make soup with them.

So while Isaac is busy chopping, Hunter will want
to water the garden.

So you'll tell him to water the flowers and then we'll
see if there are any vegetables that he can make a soup with.

After he waters the flowers you'll go out to look at the garden.

You'll see that there are maybe 2 more radishes and 1 carrot that
might be o.k. to pick.
So you'll tell Hunter to go ahead and pick them.

You'll go into the kitchen to see that Isaac has completed his soup and
is ready for a taste test.
He'll ask you to try it.
You'll say, Uh my tummy doesn't feel too good.

Then Hunter will be ready to make his soup.
So you'll get the cutting board ready.

He'll start to chop using a butter knife.
This works for him, so you just go with it.

He'll want to make his soup as hot and spicy as he can.
So you'll give him some salt and basil.

He'll add the ingredients and he'll tell his brother that
his soup will be the best.

When his soup is ready he'll want to eat it right away.
After it cools a little he'll proclaim it the best ever.

Then Audrey will wake up and want a carrot too.

And chances are if you give a boy a job, his brother and sister
will want to do it too!

In Las Vegas we have been enjoying our spring weather for a while now. I just wanted to show off some of my yard. I love having a little garden and some beautiful roses to tend to. So, not only do I have rocks and catcus, but I do have a little bit of a "normal" yard too!

Think Pink

We have been thinking pink for my sister's wedding. This is the dress that my mom made and just sent today. Audrey sure is cute!

The Countdown

Well, it is only one week until we will have a new addition to our family. Next Monday (April 28th) we'll be at the hospital. We will finally get to find out if it will be a boy (Cannon) or a girl (Coral). We are so excited! The boys want a boy, but don't want to have to share a room. Hunter said that he doesn't share his room with babies. Isaac doesn't want to have to share the backseat with Hunter (when we put the baby carseat into Hunter's old spot in the van). Audrey doesn't like sharing Mommy right now, I'm not sure what will happen when I need to feed the baby. So I guess we all will have to make some adjustments.

Last week my wonderful mother-in-law took me shopping to get a few new baby things. I really wanted a new diaper bag and a new boppy (mine was very tired). We also found some cute, nuetral clothes, which was kind of hard to do. Most things only work for a boy or a girl and since we don't know yet, it made it more of a challenge. I was so excited to get some new things, the only thing that freaked me out a little was the diapers! All too soon I'm going to have a little body wearing those little tiny things!

On Saturday we were able to clean out the garage and find the baby things that I've kept. I now need to find a spot for everything and some time to wash clothes! Russell will need to find time to put together the cradle stand. Then we might be ready, but time is still ticking away!

Catching Bugs

Yesterday at church Hunter learned about bugs and animals (the creation). His wonderful Sunbeam teacher brought a bird so that all the kids could hold and pet it. She also gave them a fun bug catcher with some plastic bugs in it.

This morning when we were going to the van, Hunter found a real bug! He emptied out the plastic bugs, opened up the door and got ready to catch his first bug. He tried to use the tweezers to catch it and put it into his bug container, but the bug was too fast. So 9 months pregnant Mom got down on her knees and tried. The cute tweezers didn't work very well, so what's a Mom to do? Well, this Mom scooped up the bug in her hands to put it in the container. Did I mention that the bug is a cockroach? A nice big, ugly cockroach!

Whew, what a fun morning. I hope we don't have more excitement the rest of the day. Although Hunter is now talking about going on a bug hunt...

On Saturday night we were over at Grandma's house for a birthday party. While there the kids went outside to play. Audrey was loving the car that she thinks is "hers". Actually I think it was first bought for Isaac. As you can see he is now much too big for it. It sure is tough growing up. He said that none of the toys work for him anymore, even though he tried really hard! Audrey got kind of mad at him, I just laughed when he got stuck. He really is growing up much too fast!

Chipped Audrey

Somehow Audrey has chipped her front tooth. We don't know when or how it happened. It is a pretty big chip too. Russell noticed on Friday. I don't remember her crying a whole lot, so I don't know when she did this. Poor pretty girl!

Happy Helpers

Here are my wonderful "helpers" when I'm trying to put away groceries or just trying to get things ready for dinner. Audrey loves to sit in the fridge and play with the switch that turns on and off the light. Today Hunter decided to join her. He told her to move over to the freezer section so that they both could sit in the fridge. It was 90 degrees outside, so maybe they were just cooling off! I thought they were cute, and then I thought of the power bill, so they only sat in there long enough for me to take a picture. They play well together, most of the time!

Clark County Fair

Hunter had a concert at the Clark County Fair on Friday. So after I got Isaac from school I headed out there with the kids. When I was walking into the fair with my big belly, pushing Audrey in a stroller and the boys running around I thought, What have I gotten myself into? Then I noticed that just about everyone in Logandale was pregnate with a bunch of kids running around, so I wasn't in the minority. Russell did come out later and we had fun as a family.
Isaac loves the tractors and machines right as you walk in, so we did that part first. Then I tried to get them to look at the things in the building that you win ribbons for (pictures, quilts, canning, etc.) That lasted about 2 minutes! So on we went. I really want to enter my pomegranite jelly. I need to find out how to do that. Wouldn't it be cool to win a ribbon for my hard work?
Next, the boys thought they should go on a ride or play a game in the carnival section, but I made them go look at the animals! Audrey loved the animals. It was really fun to watch her. She can do a really good cow sound now. There was also a large sand area that the kids could dig in and find onions, potatoes or carrots. Isaac loved digging and making tunnels, so we left him there and looked at the cute baby pigs. My friend April and her daughter met us in this area and she had fun showing us her favorite rooster. When it was time to go, Isaac didn't want to leave. I guess dirt can be just as fun as a carnival ride after all.
We got Hunter a hot dog and then went out to the van to get him changed and ready for his concert. Sara, Alber, Russell & Cheryl all made it to the fair by then and we watched Hunter perform. His group was so adorable! He did a great job! I was so happy I could see him up on stage. His next concert is just a few days after I have the baby so I won't be able to go to it.
After the concert we all ate some yummy fair food. Russell even tried a mutten burger! Then we showed Russell the animals (Isaac just dug in the dirt) and the boys played a game where they won a large bat.
It was a fun day. It was nice to get away from Vegas and enjoy some small town fun.

Food Storage

Yea for Smith's case lot sale! It is so nice to be able to stock up and get some good deals! I saved $106 dollars on my $135 order! I did get other groceries besides the cases of food, but I still feel really good about my shopping trip. Last year Russell and I went together and I think we had two carts of food. Today I went by myself (well, with 2 kids) and so I got to push the big load all by myself. Luckily I got help out to my car and the bag boy got it all into the van. Now I'm going to wait for Russell to come home and unload it all. Then the fun really begins... finding places to store it all!

Hello

Well, I think I did it. I'm not totally sure yet. I'll have to see if I can check. I have created a blog! I'm not sure that my life is very exciting, but I have so much fun reading my friends' blogs and they urged me to join the blogging community, that I think I just did! I'm going to go check what my blog page looks like, if I can figure that out. I'm not the greatest on the computer, I can do the basics just fine, but this blog might be stretching my abilities. I mean, will I actually, finally learn how to post pictures? Amazing! We'll see what I can do before the baby comes and I'm too sleep deprived to think, although I'm feeling pretty low on the sleep scale right now (maybe that's why I thought I could do this!). :)
