A Dobbins' Day

Yummy pink cake! Thanks for coming cousins! Lily, Tanner, Drew & Caleb. Thanks for coming Great Grandma Dobbins, Aunt Sara, Uncle Alber, Aunt Cathy, Uncle Dwain & Aunt Alicia. Thanks for all of the great presents everyone. It's unavoidable, that younger siblings & cousins are going to want to play with your new toys, even if you don't want to share. We can't believe that Audrey is 3! Wow! She is getting so big. She loves anything pink. She loves her new play dog. She is a joy to have in our home. We love her lots!

Audrey insisted on bringing her backpack when we took Hunter to school. She kept asking where her teacher was. She was all ready for school. Too bad for her, she has to wait another 2 years! I'm not ready for her to go yet, so I'm glad we have 2 more years. She was pretty disappointed when we left the school.

You can't see that they drew all over their tummies too! The worst part was finding this! Sharpies are permanent, and it didn't come out when I washed my blankets. AHHHHH!

Yesterday was Hunter's first day of kindergarden. He was so excited. He got up and got all ready. Then Grandma came over to come with us to the school. He decided to drive there, but on other days we can walk. We got to the school and he just went. No looking back. No tears. We had to tell him to wait for us, so that we could get some pictures. We took a lot of pictures. After I picked him up from school, he said that his first day was awesome! I can't believe how big he is and that he's started his school years. Time sure flies!

After driving straight through from MN to NV with 3 kids, what would you want to do? Well the next morning we were up bright and early (dang central time) and went over to my sister's house to help her put in her brand new laminate floors. It took us all day, but the end result is gorgeous . P.S. I am now totally updated from my summer!!!! Tomorrow (8-24) is Isaac' first day of 8th grade, Hunter's first day of Kindergarden and Audrey's 3rd birthday! So there will be lots more things for me to post about. :)

National Night Out is a chance for neighbors to get outside and bbq and talk with neighbors. My parents neighborhood (where I grew up) all got together at the park. There were hot dogs and many yummy side dishes. I got to see many of the same people that I grew up with. Many community workers, like the fire dept., police dept., etc. stopped by as well. It was a fun evening and the kids loved playing at the park. Its the same park that I spent many hours at when I was a kid (with some newer equipment).

We had a great party, filled with lots of good dutch oven cooking and lots of family. The kids had fun "helping" Grandpa with his trick candles and then they rode around and played.

These beautiful falls are in Minneapolis only a few minutes from the airport. They are near two beautiful lakes and a creek that forms the falls. It was kinda a hike with the stroller, but very pretty.
